I am Nathan Whorton and Zoe is my eight year old daughter.
We had a great time on a recent vacation, it was pretty much a non-stop adventure.
First, we flew to Belize (thru Houston) and spent a couple of days there exploring Belize City and visiting Altun Ha.
Belize is a beautiful country, very laid-back/casual. My type of place.
Visiting the many ruins on the Yucatan peninsula was a primary goal of this trip.
No hurry, no worry. No fast-food or corporate anything. None. Go there before there is.
Next we drove Chetumal, Mexico ~ after my Father arrived. (he drove from Aberdeen, WA to Belize. Long story.)
This is when Zoe and I went to Oxtankah and Laguna Bacalar.
After a couple more days, we drove to Cancun. High adventure and a short visit to Tulum.
Zoe and I took a tour bus to Chichen Itza, perhaps the finest Mayan site to visit. Great time, and recommended!
Zoe and I flew to Havana, Cuba with my Father and Angela, and then came back to Cancun.
Cuba is an interesting country. Beautiful, and definately lost in time. After about 1958 everything seemed to have stopped.
We walked the streets of Belize City, Chetumal, Cancun, and Havana in search of adventure.
I brought home various treasures from the trip: paintings/art work, carved masks, cigars, rum, shirts, shells, and rocks.
Should you plan to go, I would be glad to make further suggestions email Nathan Whorton
