It's March and whats the biggest new's on the HARBOR MUSIC SCENE you ask?
No, it's not that Mr. Cobain would have recently celebrated a birthday if he wasn't dead.
No, it's not that the new Vanderhoof release finally got released.
No, it's not that everyone's favorite neighbor Mr. Rogers passed away.
No, it's not that Great White is rumored to be the headliner at this years fireman's ball.
And no, it's not that The Beachcomber's are still legendary.
What it is can be summed
up in two words, Nate Whorton. This veteran area singer, songwriter, musician has been so busy on so many project's it's
amazing he has time to eat. What projects you ask? Besides his normal dutie's with The Dude's and 2D Records he also is
handling the bass for Joseph Lee Wood, you know the guy all of Europe and Japan are flipping go crazy over.
Funny thing,as I'm writing this Nate is over at Wood/Hill Music Group headquarters practicing with the boy's for
the upcoming tour. Nate is also now the web master for the Wood/Hill Music Group. And there is still more!!!!
I have been informed by Mr. Whorton that his highly anticipated solo project is going to be released in the not
to distant future. All this and holding down a day job too! And being Kid Zoe's excellent father.
And the guy still has the energy to design the website for the A.H.S. class of 83!!!
But don't think he doesn't have time for a social life too ladies!!!!! And he's single!!
Hell if I was a chick I'd be all over it.
Other harbor stuff-
1.Curator of Harbor rock & roll, Scott Cokeley has a site full of history now for your pleasure.
2. Bill Pitts is still alive, contrary to recent rumors.
3. After years of reseach it has been proven that the city of Raymond was not, I repeat, was not named after Bill Raymond.
On the other hand, research on the Purdy/John Purdy case continues on.
Older news: 11/27/02
After a long hiatus, J. Dude ventured to the Holy Grail, the Meca and musical crotch of the Northwest to visit his buddy - Nate
Dude last weekend. Yes, they did write a song about Charlie, the Whorton Manor 24lb. guard cat.
Something about eating RATS and other insane lyrics/music were spewed forth and digitally recorded for future downloading.
Other notable events/discussions -
Topic: Women - "the beauty and the beast" of the fair gender (obvious and hidden benefits/downfalls of companionship)
Nate and Jay also decided to invite you good people of this global community to join us on our annual
Labor Day Weekend Hike and Camp. The location will be disclosed at a later date.
As usual, it will involve an alpine lake, fishing, hiking and a virtal plethora of kooky, mad-capped FUN.
Survivors will receive a free complimentary "I Survived the 2002 Labor Day Adventure with Jay and Nate"
embroidered tube-top garment. Obviously, women look better in a tube-top than men (wink-wink)
Participants are encouraged to email NOW as spaces are limited. WE, would really like to hear from our out of state, and out of
country fans whether you plan on attending or not. J.Dude is single and would really like to hear from the ladies (Pictures tell

Returning dudesrock.com visitors will notice a big difference in the layout.
Most all previous dudesrock.com links are now posted through the "Nate's Link" link.
This will be refined as the site evolves.
The message board does not work yet and there are some empty places,
it will take a little time.
Lame-assed members of the Dudes had nothing to do with this change in content... (oops, did I write that?)
This would be a nice place to post information about local bands.
Upcoming shows, maybe info about recent gigs.
I know that I missed a few links for local bands, so feel free to let me know who and where you are.
Recording projects by bands and general information.
And what would really be nice is to have information from the local studios.
That means Mr. Smith, Mr. Brown, Mr. Pitts and the rest of you guys.
It would would be really nice if the good folks at Rosevear's Music Center found a niche in this.
Mike, Les, Don, Sandy and of course Larry, since you guys are the big toe of the foot which is Grays Harbor music,
it only seems right. Like the "big toe" analogy?
It would be very nice to get some info and links from former GH residents that still play.
There is a whole bunch of them: Eric Hahn, Dan Scott, Craig Wells, Marty Johnson, Scott McAlister, Scott Gwinn -
Gosh there must be a hundred that I cannot think of right now.
If you don't have a site yourself, I can pop out a page faster than you can say -
"Es sí verdad. Sr. Whorton puede crear, diseñar de y poner un Web page en ejecucio'n más rápidamente que
el mamífero medio del bi-ped de la inteligencia considerable que usa un par zapatos verdes y ése goza de
los emparedados marrones del perro."
THE GANK PROJECT -
One of the several projects:
one man band, un soggiorno, una chitarra, un campionatore e un pazzo di nome B.P. Ritmi
industriali con schitarrate un po' troppo assolistiche per i gusti del recensore. Beh non riesco a parlare proprio bene
di questo disco, con atmosfere di becero metal. Da sottolineare la confezione completamente diy. Ma penso non basti proprio.
